May 2012 – PRICING, PRICING, PRICING

February Meeting – Being Unique in Business to stand out from the crowd

Being unique in business to stand out from the crowd

Did you fall into your line of business with no real consideration about whether it was right for you?

Have you ever questioned whether there is something that you could tweak to make it even better?

Perhaps there are a number of separate parts to your business and you feel torn between them; your efforts seem scattered which impacts on your overall success?

Or maybe there are skills, passions and talents that you don’t get to use in your business that leaves you wondering sometimes whether your talents are wasted?

Our very own WiB member, Andrea Beadle, talks to us about how we are all unique, and how everything we have done in the past can serve a purpose in our business.  When we see how the work we love combined with our skills, talents and passions come together it can be a revelation.

Focussing on the skill set we have as well as how we are designed to help others can have a significant impact on our success.

Andrea will talk to you about the process that she uses with her clients to get real clarity about the work that they are here to do. I can certainly vouch for Andrea’s methods. When I was overwhelmed with too many options, Andrea really helped me pull the main threads together and helped me focus on the key products that I offered. She also helped me realise what I had to eliminate, to reduce my confusion and what a relief that was!

I highly recommend Andrea and her talk – what a way to start our WiB year!

August Meeting

Designing your elevator speechI’m delighted to announce that a good friend and colleague of mine, Christine Le Penuizic, will be coming along to help us generate new ideas for an innovative, confident and impactful elevator speech. I know that I am often reduced to a babbling mess when someone asks me what I do, so this will be perfect for me to be able to communicate what I do in a more succinct and articulate manner!

Christine is an experienced trainer and coach specialising in communication and presentation skills. I have attended one of her courses and she is brilliant at what she does. She also owns her own company, Athenoya.

Christine is originally from a corporate background with 20 years working for blue chip organisations and brings a French flair to the art of presenting and public speaking. Her training focuses on providing participants with practical tools, advice and individual feedback to help them take their presentation and public speaking skills to the next level, whatever their experience.  I’m sure you’ll agree, this is a meeting you can’t afford to miss. It’s these kind of things that make all the difference – how we come across and whether we can “sell ourselves”.

Here are all the other details you need to come along:

June Meeting – Social Responsibility Engagement

Our speaker this month is Karen Hurley.

Karen was born in the Medway area and has had an interesting and varied career. She has run a successful business in the hotel/catering sector and more recently, Karen’s focus has been related to social justice and housing/homelessness.

Her career has spanned employment in the public sector (local authority and criminal justice) and the voluntary/community sector in various parts of the country. She is currently Chief Executive of a local registered medium size charity called Medway Cyrenians (www.medwaycyrenians.org.uk ) a post held for past four years. Prior to that Karen worked in London homeless charity with a budget 60 times larger than her current one!

Karen has an academic background in psychology and social research, gained as a mature student with OU. Until recently she was a director for a national charity working with offenders. She lives with her partner Pete in Rainham and enjoys watercolour painting, Italy, and her only grandson, but definitely not in that order!

Karen will be talking to us about the way charities can help private organisations improve their employee well-being, team-building and work satisfaction (and therefore staff retention rates) through corporate social responsibility engagement. She will also be talking about David Cameron’s Big Society and the issue of homelessness, which should give us plenty to think about and discuss.

I’m sure you agree, this promises to be a most interesting and intriguing talk, so I do hope you show your appreciation by giving Karen your full support and saving her a sandwich!!

April Meeting – Attraction Marketing meets The Law of Attraction

Attraction marketing successAre you unconsciously giving your marketing bad vibes?

I’m delighted to announce that our guest speaker this month will be our very own Andrea Beadle.

Back by popular demand, Andrea will be talking about attraction marketing but she will be adding a new twist, combining attraction marketing with the laws of attraction.  The result of this delicious topic will be to attract your ideal clients to your business.  Yummy!!  Who could ask for anything more?

I always look forward to Andrea’s talks so I urge you to come along.  Marketing is such an important skill to get right and Andrea really is an expert in this field.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
