The next Women in Business Medway & North Kent meeting is on:

Wednesday 2nd February from 6.45pm to 9pm.  I can confirm we will be meeting again at the Canterbury Christ Church University:

6.45:-  start with informal networking with fellow members

7:00: – Introductions

7:15: – WIB News

7:30 (ish): – formal talk with a guest speaker (often one of our very talented members)

8:30: – Q&A session, advice-seeking or general topics of interest.

8.45:- Problem corner – Members get to share a problem or need with the group for input and help.

9:00: close.

AGENDA

Sarah Christie our chair will be talking about how we can improve our relationships and perhaps increase our persuasion and influence on others.

This is a very fun and light-hearted session where you will learn more about yourself and the loved ones or customers in your life and hopefully take away some tips on how to improve difficult relationships or how to be more persuasive.

I can’t wait to share this with you so I really hope you can make it!

November Meeting – First Impressions are made within 30 Seconds

7:00             Informal networking with a coffee and a cake!  (Or tea and biscuits!)

7:30            Meeting begins

9:00             End of meeting

First impressions are made within 30 seconds and they are notoriously difficult to change.

As women in business we need to be sure that our appearance doesn’t undermine the professional image that we want to project.

Women who suffer with skin problems often have lower self-esteem and confidence and, consequently, do not project themselves as well as they might.

So I am delighted to tell you that Grace Kelly will be giving us a talk about how to create the all important first impression and ensuring that we create the impact we want.

Grace will be bringing along her range of Arbonne skin and cosmetic products and these will be on sale afterwards if you want to take advantage.  Some of you may be struggling to deal with a particular skin issue and if so, please complete the attached form and email it to Grace prior to the WiB meeting.  She may then be able to tailor a solution, just for you.

As Chair, I can’t believe I’m having to miss this meeting, as I am away working all that week, but I leave you in the capable hands of Kirsten and Christine and I really hope you enjoy the meeting.

October Meeting – Promotional Material and Linked In

7:00             Informal networking with a coffee and a cake!  (Or tea and biscuits!)

7:30             Preparing promotional material for WiB (flyers etc) that incorporates our work on the WiB brand.

8:15             Getting started on LinkedIn

9:00             End of meeting

You will see that, having done so much work on our WiB brand and all that Kirsten has done for us, we would like to turn these ideas into actions and begin to develop some promotional flyers for our group, which we could then hand out. This is your group that relies on your continued presence for its survival, so please do come along and have a say in what makes WiB so special.

At the same time, if you have not got any flyers for your own business, I would urge you to think about what you could develop for yourselves.

All in all, I’m pleased to see that our monthly attendance is growing each month and we have consistently seen upwards of 15 for the last few meetings which is fantastic. I’m glad we’ve devoted so much time to the group’s development this year, but am also conscious of the need to return the focus to YOUR businesses, so rest assured, we will continue to arrange for talks that are beneficial to you and the ongoing growth of your companies.
