Firewalk for Charity by our very own Grace Kelly

Firewalk in aid of Ellenor LionsOur very own Grace Kelly is planning to take part in a firewalk for charity in aid of the Ellenor Lions Hospices.

Grace carries out a great deal of charity work and so in addition to being a very caring soul, we all think she is an incredibly brave one!

You can find out more about the challenge by clicking on the link to the right.

Family, friends and colleagues are welcome to come along to watch Grace face this incredible challenge. There will be a barbeque and lots to see and do to keep everyone entertained whilst Grace prepares for her walk.

And we hope that you will all sponsor Grace! (link coming soon!)

“The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you’re in control of your life. If you don’t, life controls you” – Tony Robbins

And just in case anyone is doubting the enormity of the challenge that Grace is taking on, here is a you-tube video of a recent event.

August Meeting

Designing your elevator speechI’m delighted to announce that a good friend and colleague of mine, Christine Le Penuizic, will be coming along to help us generate new ideas for an innovative, confident and impactful elevator speech. I know that I am often reduced to a babbling mess when someone asks me what I do, so this will be perfect for me to be able to communicate what I do in a more succinct and articulate manner!

Christine is an experienced trainer and coach specialising in communication and presentation skills. I have attended one of her courses and she is brilliant at what she does. She also owns her own company, Athenoya.

Christine is originally from a corporate background with 20 years working for blue chip organisations and brings a French flair to the art of presenting and public speaking. Her training focuses on providing participants with practical tools, advice and individual feedback to help them take their presentation and public speaking skills to the next level, whatever their experience.  I’m sure you’ll agree, this is a meeting you can’t afford to miss. It’s these kind of things that make all the difference – how we come across and whether we can “sell ourselves”.

Here are all the other details you need to come along:

August Extravaganza – Pictures

In August, The Women in Business Medway & North Kent group took a break from the traditional networking evening and had a FUN NIGHT OUT at The Roffen, Medway’s leading health and social club.  http://www.roffen.com.

August Networking Dinner

As you can see we had a great turn out and shared a glass of wine – or two!

Whilst we might not have a meal out every month and I’m afraid we usually only have coffee and tea, we do often have cakes and definitely have lots of fun and laughter.

Take a look at our next meeting and consider joining us for an evening of networking, chat and laughter!

Be an Amazing Business Builder Show

Hi everyone,

I thought you might like an update about my day exhibiting on behalf of WiB MNK at the Be An Amazing Business Builder Show.  After a relatively slow start, it was an excellent day!  I managed to secure a very respectable amount of leads and met some lovely people.  I have already heard from one or two ladies who have confirmed their attendance at the June meeting and many who were very positive on the day.

But I didn’t stop there!  I also managed to chat up a few unsuspecting gentlemen and hopefully some of them will come along next year to speak at our meetings.  I think it’s great to hear from non-members, talking about their area of expertise, so I’m hopeful we will continue our high standard of talks.

Business Link were very pleased to hear about us.  The gentleman I spoke to had not heard of us and he felt our group would be ideal for many of his clients who are just starting up their businesses and a little nervous of the stricter networking groups.  To hear how much support we give and how informal we are, was music to his ears!  So we may see quite a few new members in the months to come.

I know you will all extend a warm welcome to anyone who comes to visit and I’m looking forward to see our numbers rise again.  It’s all good!

Best wishes
Sarah
